Who has the most buzzer beaters in NBA history

Are there better things than when you score the decisive basket for your team to win? On this occasion, we will just talk about the players who marked the history of the NBA with their cold-bloodedness in the last and most exciting moments.

When we talk about buzzer-beaters, we probably first think of Michael Jordan, who is the player with the most recorded buzzer-beaters in the NBA, and next to him, there are several other big names who celebrated by hitting key shots in the match.

Who has the most game winning shots in NBA history?

Below we will talk about the ten players with the most buzzer-beaters in the history of the NBA.

Kevin Garnett- 5 buzzer beaters

We start the list of players with the most affected buzzer beaters with Kevin Garnett. Garnett has played in the NBA for over two decades. Garnett did not change too many clubs as he played for three teams.

He started his career with the Minnesota Timberwolves and ended his career at the same club. Between those two episodes, he played for the Boston Celtics and Brooklyn Nets. Garnett is one of the best centers to play in recent NBA history.

Most buzzer beaters scored by wearing the Minnesota Timberwolves jersey, and the only buzzer beater he scored for the Boston Celtics contributed to the 2008 Celtics winning another championship title.

It is also the only championship ring that Garnett has won during his rich career. In more than two decades of playing in the NBA, Garnett has played in 15 All-Star games.

He also won one MVP title in 2004.

Vince Carter - 5 buzzer beaters

Like the aforementioned Garnett, Vince Carter scored 5 buzzer beaters during his long career in the NBA. Carter played in the NBA for 22 seasons and retired only two years ago.

He began his NBA adventure in 1998 when he was drafted by the Golden State Warriors, but was immediately transferred to the Toronto Raptors.

After the Raptors he changed seven more clubs and ended his career in 2020 at the Atlanta Hawks. At the beginning of his career, Carter was known as an excellent all-round player, but later he became recognizable by a great shot for three points.

As for his achieved buzzer-beaters, the most famous is the one he scored against the San Antonio Spurs in 2004 in the third game of the first round of the playoffs.

He has competed in the All-Star eight times during his career, and his victory in the NBA Slam Dunk Contest is especially memorable.

Carter was a fantastic player who, despite more than two decades of playing in the NBA, failed to win the championship ring.

Andre Iguodala -5 buzzer beaters

Another player who has recorded five buzzer beaters during his career. Iguodala began his NBA career in 2004 when he was selected by the Philadelphia 76ers.

After that, he changed four more teams and achieved the most success with the Golden State Warriors, for which he still plays today. With this team he won three championship titles.

In one of those seasons, he also won the MVP award. Throughout his career, Iguodala is known for a good shot for three points, but also for an excellent defense.

As we mentioned, he started his career in Philadephia and scored three buzzer-beaters in that team's jersey. The remaining two buzzer beaters he scored by playing for the Golden State Warriors.

Iguodala is already 38 years old but still makes a solid contribution on the field. With the Golden State Warriors in good shape after a few years of poor results, Iguodala could win another championship ring by the end of his career.

Gilbert Arenas- 5 buzzer beaters

Gilbert Arenas also scored five buzzer-beaters during his career. Arenas caught everyone's eye by wearing the number 0 jersey. His career was supposed to last much longer, but Arenas had huge private problems.

One-shot hit him in the head, so no one wanted to hire Arenas anymore, so he ended his career much earlier than planned.

During 11 seasons in the NBA, Arenas fans remembered him for being a very cold-blooded player who knew how to hit a shot at key moments. All five times when he hit buzzer-beaters, he did not have help from his teammates, but he took responsibility and created a suitable position for the shot.

He scored all those points while playing for the Washington Wizards. His goal against Utah Jazz is especially remembered when he made a sign of victory with both hands, although the ball has not yet passed through the hoop.

That speaks to the confidence Arenas had and remains unfortunate that one infamous event has tarnished his career.

Dwyane Wade -5 buzzer beaters

Dwyane Wade has scored five buzzer beaters during his career and spent most of his career at the Miami Heat with whom he won three championships. He led that team along with Chris Bosh and LeBron James.

He played 16 seasons in the NBA and in the aforementioned Miami Heat he ended his career three seasons ago. He played for the Chicago Bulls and Cleveland Cavaliers for one season each.

Quite unexpectedly all five buzzer beaters scored by playing for the Miami Heat. The buzzer beater he scored against the Golden State Warriors is especially remembered.

Wade has never hesitated to take responsibility, so it is not surprising that he resolved the issue of the winner in the last seconds of the match five times during his career.

In each of these situations, he built himself a responsible position from which to solve matches. In addition to three championship titles, he also won one MVP title and competed in the All-Star as many as 13 times.

Paul Pierce -7 buzzer beaters

Paul Pierce has played in the NBA for almost two decades. He spent most of his career with the Boston Celtics and after nineteen seasons ended his career with the Los Angeles Clippers.

During those nineteen seasons, he solved games seven times with his points in the last moments of the match. Most of those goals were scored by wearing the Boston Celtics jersey.

During his career, Pierce was known for his shots from isolation, and that is exactly how he achieved all the buzzer beaters. We mentioned Kevin Garnett and it was in tandem with him that Pierce won his only championship title.

That same season, Pierce was selected as the NBA Finals MVP. He has performed at the All-Star as many as ten times.

His jersey number 34 was withdrawn from use when it comes to the Boston Celtics, whose fans he brought a lot of joy to during his stay in the most trophy-winning franchise in the NBA.

Joe Johnson -8 buzzer beaters

Joe Johnson began his career in the NBA just over two decades ago when he was selected for the draft by the Boston Celtics. He played most of the seasons for the Atlanta Hawks and during his career he was known for his goals in the last moments of the match.

He did this mostly out of isolation so wearing the Atlanta Hawks jersey got the nickname, Iso Joe.

Johnson played his last game for the Houston Rockets four years ago and then returned this season when he signed a ten-day contract with the team in which he started his NBA career, the Boston Celtics. Johnson also tried out in the BIG3 league and won two titles.

He did not achieve such success in the NBA, but he played in the NBA All-Star seven times.

At key moments, Johnson was always cool-headed and very precise. He scored most of his goals in the regular season and remembers his buzzer beater when he played for the Utah Jazz in the playoffs against the Los Angeles Clippers.

Kobe Bryant - 8 buzzer beaters

According to many, Kobe was the best basketball player of all time who ever played in the NBA. He dedicated his entire career to one club, the Los Angeles Lakers, where he spent two decades. Unfortunately, his life ended tragically after a helicopter crash two years ago.

Kobe was a player who liked to take responsibility, so it is not surprising that he is at the very end of this list as the guy with almost the most achieved buzzer beaters. In the early 2000s, he scored four buzzer beaters to score as many goals in the next decade.

Kobe won as many as five championship titles during his career, and his game against the Toronto Raptors is especially remembered when he scored as many as 81 points.

Kobe was one of the most talented players to ever play in the NBA, and it remains a great pity that his life ended prematurely because Kobe was able to help all future basketball generations a lot.

Who has more buzzer beaters? LeBron or Jordan

Lebron James - 7 buzzer beaters

We are talking again about another active player, and of course, we should not spend too many words on Lebron James' career. James began his NBA career back in 2003 when he was selected as the first pick in the NBA Draft by the Cleveland Cavaliers.

In the first years, he had really great statistics, but he didn't hit key shots and didn't win a single title. In his native Ohio, he scored his first buzzer beat when he performed for the Cleveland Cavaliers.

His last buzzer beater also scored by playing for this team. He achieved several more buzzer-beaters in the championship seasons with the Miami Heat. During his career, he won a total of four championship rings, and each time he was named NBA Finals MVP.

Considering that he is still active and that despite being 37 years old, he has been providing fantastic things, it would not be unexpected for him to achieve another buzzer beat by the end of his career.

Michael Jordan - 9 buzzer beaters

We end this list with another basketball player who fans and experts consider to be the best in the history of this game.

Michael Jordan was the leader of the legendary generation of Chicago Bulls led by Phil Jackson from the bench. What Jackson was on the bench, Jordan was on the field. Jordan has won six titles in the NBA during his fifteen seasons, and the number of titles would probably have been higher if he had not paused for two years due to private problems.

During his career, Jordan scored 9 buzzer beaters, which is not surprising because he had a fantastic and recognizable jump shot with which he solved key matches in the playoff series several times.

Most buzzer beaters are scored from isolation.

Considering that many consider him one of the best players of all time, it is no surprise that Jordan achieved the most buzzer-beaters during his career.
